Beatrice, Nebraska

Beatrice is a city in and the county seat of Gage County, Nebraska. The population was 12,459 at the 2010 census. Beatrice is located 40 miles south of Lincoln on the Big Blue River. It is surrounded by agricultural country.

This sister faces the rising sun from the central location on the Beatrice Museum’s beautifully manicured yard.  Located on the west end of town off highway 4/136, the museum is just one block off the river on 2nd Street and near the town’s rail road tracks.

BEATRICE. NEBRASKA MONDAY EVENING, MAY 14. 1951 / UNVEILING—The veil falls from the replica of the Statue of Liberty in Charles Park. The statue, given to Beatrice by the Boy Scouts of this city, was formally dedicated Sunday.
