David City is a city in Butler County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 2,906 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Butler County.

David City’s sister sits on the east edge of town on the south west corner of the high school property south of the football field just off the highway. She faces the southern horizon from within her unique two tiered base. The lower tier is a seven sided polygon with an eleven point star second tier raising to a five foot sand stone pedestal upon which our sister resides. Her grounds are nicely kept and she appears to be in fairly decent shape.
