Hutchinson, Kansas

Hutchinson is the largest city and county seat of Reno County, Kansas, United States and located on the Arkansas River. It has been home to salt mines since 1887, thus its nickname of “Salt City”, but locals call it “Hutch”.
The Liberty Sister that was located here disappeared after being moved from Larned, KS to the Boy Scout’s camp (Camp Kanza). The statue was on a small island in the camp’s lake. After it was discovered that it was missing, authorities emptied the lake in their search, but to no avail. This statue was first in Larned Kansas then moved to the Boy Scout camp.
